Premios Gotham: Ganaron Beginners y El árbol de la vida

-Los films de Mike Mills y Terrence Malick compartieron el galardón a mejor película en los premios del cine independiente de Nueva York.
-Además, Take Shelter y The Artist lideran las nominaciones a los Spirit Awards.

GOTHAM AWARDS

Este lunes 29/11 se entregaron en Manhattan los 21° Gotham Independent Film Awards que contó con la conducción de Edie Falco y Oliver Platt.

Además de la entrega de las estatuillas hubo premios a las trayectorias de Charlize Theron, Gary Oldman, David Cronenberg y Tom Rothman.

Los ganadores fueron:

-Película: El árbol de la vida, de Terrence Malick, y Beginners, de Mike Mills
 
-Documental: Better This World, de Kelly Duane y Katie Galloway

-Mejor elenco: Beginners  (Christopher Plummer, Ewan McGregor, Melanie Laurent, Goran Visnjic, Kai Lennox, Mary Page Keller, Keegan Boos)

-Directora revelación: Dee Rees por Pariah

-Intérprete revelación: Felicity Jones por Like Crazy
 
-Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You (Film inédito): Scenes of a Crime, de Blue Hadaegh y Grover Babcock
 
-Premio del público: Girlfriend, de Justin Lerner

-Premio a mujer realizadora: Lucy Mulloy por Una noche

SPIRIT AWARDS

Estos otros premios indies (en este caso, con sede en Los Angeles) anunciaron este martes 29/11 sus nominaciones para su 27 edición organizada por Film Independent. The Artist y Take Shelter encabezaron las preferencias con cinco candidaturas cada una, respectivamente. En cambio, Midnight in Paris y Like Crazy resultaron las principales perdedoras. Fox Searchlight sumó 14 nominaciones seguida por Sony Classics con 9.
