Sin lugar para los débiles fue elegida la mejor película de 2007 por 80 de los críticos más prestigiosos de todo el mundo convocados por la revista del Lincoln Center. Luz silenciosa, del mexicano Carlos Reygadas, quedó como el mejor film no estrenado comercialmente.

Entre las películas estrenadas en Estados Unidos en 2007 aparece en el puesto 46 Los muertos, de Lisandro Alonso y en las aún no estrenadas, en el puesto 27, Glue, de Alexis Dos Santos.
