Premios Critics Choice 2026: "Belén", de Dolores Fonzi, figura ente las 6 nominadas a Mejor Película Internacional

-El film argentino tiene como rivales a Fue solo un accidente, La mujer zurda, La única opción, El agente secreto y Sirāt.
-Pecadores, Una batalla tras otra, Hamnet y Frankenstein lideran las nominaciones en cine, mientras que Adolescencia encabeza las candidaturas de series.

La ceremonia será el domingo 4 de enero con la conducción de Chelsea Handler.

¿Qué chances reales tiene "Belén" en estos premios y cuánto crecen sus chances rumbo a las nominaciones al Oscar? Hasta el momento, el film de y con Dolores Fonzi no había figurado en ninguno de los premios anunciados (Gotham, Spirit, críticos de Nueva York, National Board of Review, American Film Institute, etc.), pero lo bueno es que los Critics Choice son menos cinéfilos, más populares, y suelen coincidir más con el gusto de los votantes de la Academia.

Sus rivales en los Critics Choice son todas favoritas de la temporada de premios como Fue solo un accidente / It Was Just an Accident, del iraní Jafar Panahi; Lá única opción / No Other Choice, del coreano Park Chan-wook; El agente secreto / The Secret Agent, del brasileño Kleber Mendonça Filho; y Sirāt, del español Oliver Laxe. También se coló La mujer zurda / Left-Handed Girl, de Shih-Ching Tsou, que tiene a un tal Sean Baker como coguionista, productor y editor.

Además, en la disputa por el Oscar a Mejor Película Internacional aparecen otras fuertes contendientes como Valor sentimental, del noruego Joachim Trier; Un poeta, del colombiano Simón Mesa Soto; y Sound of Falling, de la alemana Mascha Schilinski, por citar solo algunas.

El primer paso para Belén será quedar en la shortlist de 15 películas que se anunciará el martes 16 de diciembre y -teniendo en cuenta que Amazon está haciendo una fuerte campaña por el film argentino- hay chances concretas de que eso sucesa. Más difícil, claro, será conseguir una de las cinco nominaciones que se conocerán el 10 de febrero de 2026, pero para eso falta mucho. Lo cierto es que Belén está en carrera y no es poco.
